Real investment looks boring. It looks like soil testing kits, cold-chain storage for vaccines and inputs, drip irrigation tubing, and localized micro-fertilizer production. It looks like funding local agronomists to spend ten years selecting for traits that matter under stress.

Stop funding the romance of the lost garden. Start funding the brutal, unglamorous work of breeding crops that can survive the Anthropocene. If your seeds cannot beat the heat, they belong in a textbook, not a furrow.
