It sounds counterintuitive. Using a driving map for a boat.

Yet necessity breeds ingenuity. When you are twenty miles out, bouncing over three-foot swells, and your high-end navigation app freezes because it is desperately trying to fetch live traffic updates for a highway you are currently floating a half-mile away from, simplicity becomes a survival trait.
